  • We intended to build ourselves a lovely castle to live in but somehow we got stuck in tiny tall tower off in the corner courtyard away from warm and companionship. We sat up there alone and afraid until one day, maybe just yesterday a lightning bolt flashed down blew it all away. We screamed and prepared for death, but instead of doom we found ourselves sitting on a grassy lawn scratching our heads thinking, what just happened? The Tower card can tell us. It says that our castle was built with faulty bricks and we could not have been happy there for very long. It says we can now build ourselves a nice little house with big windows and bright sunshine coming through. We can have friends in and go out shopping.

When it feels like life is crashing down, hold on, hold on through the crash because something good is coming. It may not be spectacular. It may not be lit up with neon lights. But is will be quietly and nicely okay.

  • The Chariot driver is being pulled in two different directions but does not complain! If you look at his muscular chest and arms you can see that his difficult exercise is only making him stronger. Some people say, live it (even if it is difficult) as if you chose it! That is what the chariot driver does. What doesn’t kill us will make us stronger and it takes a lot to kill us! So laugh at it. Call trouble your friend and maybe one day life will appear trouble free, not different, just trouble free. “No longer conscious of my movement, I discovered a new unity with nature. I had found a new source of power and beauty, a source I never dreamt existed”. -Roger Bannister, On breaking the four minute mile.

  • Sometimes we experience trouble whether trouble is present or not. Maybe our trouble is a memory we are mulling over. Maybe it is a fear we don’t understand. Maybe trouble is like a grumpy old aunt whom we would miss if she moved away. For what ever our reason is for holding onto trouble, the Two of Wands tells us to let go. Right now there is no trouble. Our trouble is a ghost from the past whom we can choose to ignore. So, if you want to take a risk, start a venture, go out on a limb, today is the day. Right now all your ducks are in a row. Strike while the iron is hot. “Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine”. -Elvis Presley
